There are those who where here almost from the start, and there are those who found the site yesterday.There are those who just popped up here once, following a link from a fellow blogger site¹, an obscure web forum, the email of an enthusiast friend, or a big media news outlet², and there are those who hang around in the dacha on a daily basis.
There are those whose example gave me the inspiration and the incentive to start blogging, and there are those I inspired and who started their own blogs as a result.
There are those who contributed with funds and there are those who contributed with words of comfort and encouragement.
And there's been more than my share of each.
So writing this from
Because you see, the dissident frogman frogman was born on this day in 2002. (and this was the first 'official' post)
In addition, I have to say it lead me from the most unexpected encounters³ to the most unforeseen places³, and do I hope I have not seen the end of it yet.
Yes, it's been a pair of interesting years, thank to you.
1: Too many to name them all, but not to cordially thank them all.
2: According to my (now) tottering memory (as a direct consequence of the recent ingestion of a certain Slovakian brandy), The Daily Telegraph, the National Review Online, and The Weekly Standard.
No I'm not bragging, I'm just stating facts while jumping all over the place, waving my arms and yelling ohboy-ohboy-ohboy with a silly look on my face, why do you ask?
3: A whole bunch of smart and talented individuals (you wouldn't believe), plus some high profile US officials (Though not enough and not long enough to cagily try to take advantage of them), some very impressive British academics (I do mean very impressive and very academics), Margaret Thatcher's finance minister (No, seriously. Now what about going out for a drink sweetie? Your place or my place?), in such various places as a very exclusive gentlemen' club in London (No, I'm not a regular member, I was just a guest. Your place sounds great to me, what do you think?), the British parliament and even some UN buildings (OK, so what about my place?)
