DISCLAIMER: in my experience, the following doesn't apply to 99% of my readership. Unfortunately, experience also shows it has to be written down for the remaining 1%.
The short version, when it comes to my comments policy, goes down to a line taken from the (mediocre) second opus of the Matrix:
"I built this place. Down here, I make the rules."
Let's elaborate a bit:
If you need further help with the site, you may want to check the Field Manual. Ultimately, you can also drop me a line. I usually don't answer jellyfish and buttermonkey(1) hybrids however.

Fred, you’re also welcome in Canada - but… [1] you may not recognize the language they speak in Quebec, they claim it’s French but opinions vary; [2] think of Canada as halfway between French socialism and the American way, you may prefer the real thing. DF, that impromptu Franch lesson was worth the price of admission all by itself. My question: does the reference to French persons as “frogs” predate that linguistic invention - or FOLLOW it? |

This seems a good place, as regarding the commercial aftermath of Chirac’s behavior, to call the attention of the formidable Frogman &ny others who might be interested, to another site’s comment thread which, though I myself posted a few good (I hope) comments there, has reached a noteworthy level of quality &elevance thanks to the recentest comment posted there “Three Weeks in France, Ten Years Later” by one Ariel. The site is Blogitorial, the comment thread is “Carl’s Junior disses France (June 13, 2003),” &omment thread’s URL is (link) http://gandalf.ics.uci.edu/blog/2003/06/carls_junior_disses_france.html. |
