Random thoughts on life, the Universe and everything

As moral equivalences go, the barbaric nature of those societies that take great pride in being the most faithful and observant of Muhammad's message, and therefore inflict mutilation and stoning as legal sentences to those they deem guilty or "deviant", is in no way worse than the "violent" nature of Western countries, particularly those Americans, their "obsession" with guns and the "impunity" many of their States grant them to shoot trespassers and home invaders.

Free and responsible citizens defending their life and property versus submissive mobs carrying, in the case of stoning, the totalitarian sentences of a bunch of backward clerics and little warlords, well, it's just, you know, different, but worse it is not, and who's up for another round of Latte?

I know what you think. There is no way anybody with half a working ethical fiber might buy into that, but let's just consider the argument valid for a minute. What could possibly be the answer?

Well, your mileage may vary, but as far as I'm concerned, I'd rather be shot by a free man than stoned to death by a bunch of slaves(1).
